Disclaimer
Emerald provides legal data, not legal advice.
Last updated: 18 August 2026
Emerald makes Kenyan judgments and statutes easier to retrieve through software. It is an independent product and should not be treated as an official court record or a substitute for professional legal judgment.
No legal advice
Search results, document text, metadata, API responses and MCP output are provided for information and software use. They do not create an advocate-client relationship and should not be relied on as legal advice for a particular matter.
Check the authoritative source
Emerald keeps source links and provenance so users can verify a document against the originating public source. Before filing, advising a client or taking another consequential legal step, check the current authoritative text and any later amendments, corrections, appeals or related decisions.
Coverage changes as the corpus grows
Emerald is continuously adding historical material and newly published documents. A missing search result does not mean that a case, statute or legal proposition does not exist.
Processing and metadata
Emerald separates preserved legal-body artifacts from derived text used for search. Search snippets, ranking and plain-text representations are technical aids. They may differ in formatting from the source document even where the underlying legal wording is unchanged.
Availability
We work to keep the API, MCP service and stored corpus available, but interruptions can occur. Customers should design production systems so that temporary unavailability does not create an unsafe legal outcome.
Third-party services and sources
Links to public legal sources and third-party services are provided for convenience and verification. Emerald does not control those services and cannot guarantee their continued availability.
